Tonight it is Erev Yom Kippur

Yom Kippur
The name "Yom Kippur" means "Day of Atonement," and that pretty much explains what the holiday is. It is a day set aside to "afflict the soul," to atone for the sins of the past year.
Yom Kippur atones only for sins between man and G-d, not for sins against another person. To atone for sins against another person, you must first seek reconciliation with that person, righting the wrongs you committed against them if possible. That must all be done before Yom Kippur.
Yom Kippur is a complete Sabbath; no work can be performed on that day. It is well-known that you are supposed to refrain from eating and drinking (even water) on Yom Kippur. It is a complete, 25-hour fast beginning before sunset on the evening before Yom Kippur and ending after nightfall on the day of Yom Kippur.
It is a lovely day not a single car on the road it is so quiet and a slower pace of life for just one day.
The evening service that begins Yom Kippur is commonly known as Kol Nidre, named for the prayer that begins the service. "Kol nidre" means "all vows," and in this prayer, we ask God to annul all personal vows we may make in the next year. It refers only to vows between the person making them and God, such as "If I pass this test, I'll pray every day for the next 6 months!"

Sunday habit for this Simple woman.

FOR TODAY

Outside my window...
The sun is shining and it still feels like summer.
I am thinking...
I should be doing some housework and I hope Daniel gets a move on or he will miss the bus.
I am thankful...

that he did not miss the bus...and that I was here when he said "Love you"
In the kitchen...
I have a new toy a Magi mix I think I will make some meat balls and pasta.
I am wearing...

the usual shorts and t-shirt
I am creating...

a few mattress covers for play school.
I am going...

to ride my bike and then start on the housework.
I am wondering...
will I get everything done ... but the again there is tomorrow
I am reading...
far from the madding crowd on my hammock
I am hoping...
it will cool down a little so I can take Sean for a walk.
I am looking forward to...

plans that I have made cross fingers.
I am learning

that patience is a virtue
Around the house...

is quiet now with just the washing machine on
I am pondering...
a lot of things but mostly about how cruel we can be to each other.
A favourite quote for today...
dont miss the bus
One of my favourite things...
my hammock

A few plans for the rest of the week:
taking Sean for some walks and spending sometime in my hammock.
A peek into my day.

bike ride, house work, cooking, sewing and reading a book in the hammock under the tree.bliss

I cant remember who sent this too me .

Walking by the water

thinking about my eldest boy far away from home, then I saw this heart in the water and I knew he was ok.
It cerrtainly gave me goosebumps, when you need a sign you only need to look.
